Now you know me…I love to look for codes. Everywhere! You can never be sure where secret messages and hidden information might be lurking to be discovered. That’s why I was so thrilled to have such wonderful Designers and Artists working on all my books who were willing to incorporate secrets into the covers of the stories!
Richard Collingridge and James Fraser did exceptional work on the covers of Secret Breakers and I look forward to future blog posts when I can tell you all about their amazing creations. But today’s video focuses on the fabulous work Will Steele did when putting together the covers for River of Ink.
Will did amazingly to include loads of the locations visited in the stories as part of the cityscapes that range across the covers of the series. He also included all sorts of symbols on the back covers and even the spines of the books. (Have a hunt for the phoenix and the dragon and the padlock amongst other hidden secrets signs.) But the video above will tell you all about a sneaky secret he was hiding in the design of the text used for the title of the series. Do check it out and then check out the books themselves to see the coded secret for yourself!
Happy Secret Breaking Everyone!
