What fun I had meeting readers at the Meet the Author event!

As part of my Autumn Term adventures I was honoured to be asked to take part in the ‘Meet the Author’ sessions arranged by the wonderful Portsmouth School Library Service. The team of librarians were truly fabulous and spent the whole day making sure I was well looked after as I met readers at a school in Cosham Portsmouth. I got to talk codes and puzzles, mysteries and stories at Portsdown Primary School and the students from Years 3 right up to Year 6 were so attentive and so great at secret breaking! 

‘Meet the Author’ events are just some of the amazing things the service organises and it confirms to me how vital school library services are! Also vital to the success of the day was the wonderful Hayling Island Bookshop. They provided books for pupils to buy and I was lucky to meet with them again as they have supported lots of my events in the past.

I really appreciate every book that is bought or borrowed from the library, especially at this time, so thank you to everyone involved. I can’t wait to be back in Portsmouth! And thank you so much for having me!
