‘River of Ink’ wins book prize!
So I have very exciting news! River of Ink: Genesis has won a prize! It has been declared the Salisbury Schools Book Award Winner of 2017 and I could not be happier! There was some very stiff competition in the shortlist of six books and I was totally over the moon to see River of Ink: Genesis included in the list…but to go on and see the book win is overwhelming. I am so thrilled. There is nothing better than thinking that your book is being read and enjoyed…so thank you to the readers of Salisbury for this fabulous honour!
It’s actually been quite a time for award events. River of Ink: Genesis was also shortlisted for the Essex Book of the Year and I had a fabulous time at the Awards event where I got to chat to very enthusiastic readers and the other shortlisted authors. Do check out my instagram page for pictures! The Essex Book of the Year was awarded to Boy X by Dan Smith, a very well deserved winner. And there were other prizes too…one for students who had made book trailers and the award for that went to the River of Ink team so I was very chuffed and excited! Lots of readers had also written fabulous reviews of the books. Matthew wrote the winning entry for River of Ink and it is so good to read reviews which help other readers hear about books you’ve loved. So, if you are feeling in the mood, do feel free to write reviews of any of the stories I’ve written and post them on Amazon or Goodreads. I love to see what readers think!
And while I’m here, I’ve just got time to tell you that things are moving along very nicely with the FINAL book in the River of Ink series. Yes…there is one more to go! The story doesn’t end with Mortal! Book 4 which is entitled Immortal is released on June 1st so you don’t have long to read the other three before the final stage in the adventure hits the shelves!
So thanks again readers of Salisbury…and happy reading everyone!
Loads of best wishes
Helen
